Tl;dr I'm a film student and I want to make an r/anarchism "This I Believe" sort of thing. Who is interested and how should we do it?
I'm kinda new here, so bear with me. Maybe this has been done before...
Don't get me wrong, I love the discussion that takes place on this subreddit. I've learned so much reading here it's ridiculous, but sometimes I just want to do something noticeable. I want to take action, but instead of unproductively saying "why don't we just do something..." I've got an idea:
Let's make a video. I'm a film student, and I can edit pretty well, but I don't wanna do the whole thing on my own.
I was thinking it would be an open-video-letter to the world about why we're anarchists. Why we're anti-state. I figure we could focus on the anti-state portion of the anarchism as opposed to our anarcho-suffix, because that's the start point anyways. However, in your individual part, you can say whatever you want, and I'll try not to editorialize too much.
So, let's get some ideas. What does everyone want to see? How do we want to present it? What should we talk about? If there's any interest in this at all, I will set up some sort of online receptacle for everyone to post a webcam of whatever rant they can spitball or essay they can narrate. Then, I'll edit together (if you can edit and want to help, I would be totally down with that). It might take awhile, because school is coming up for me, but I'm pretty sure we can put together a decent product.
So. How do we want to do it? Let's get some ideas going and then I'll throw up another post for where we can all put our videos. Think of this as a communal r/anarchism "This-I-Believe".
